Social Therapeutic Coaching: A Practical Guide to Group and Couples Work (2024) by Carrie Sackett and Murray Dabby provides an advanced method for shifting away from the isolating and hyper-individualized ‘Me’ mindset so prevalent in today’s culture. It shows how client growth is turbocharged when we practice through the ‘We’ mindset, a mindset more aligned with humans’ fundamental sociality. The first half introduces the four pillars and nine competencies of the method. The second half dives into what a coach might say and do as well as provides over two dozen practical examples of group and couples work.
The reader will likely see connections in social therapeutics with how they already practice and also feel challenged to stretch into new ways of communicating, feeling, doing and seeing.
Find out why Jonathan Passmore is “in awe of” this work. And why Social Therapeutic Coaching is purchased on Amazon alongside books authored by coaching greats Richard Boyatzis, Marcia Reynolds and David Drake.
